Michael and I are going to be at WCPT 2019 in Geneva from Friday 10th to Monday 13th May before the main event of the In Beta Unconference in Lausanne on 14th and 15th May (reminder that you can still register here). It would be great to meet as many people who have interacted with In Beta as we can whilst we are at WCPT. So we thought it would be good to let you know what we’re up to while we’re there and propose a time to get together for a coffee for anyone who would like to come and have a chat unencumbered by twitter character limits or video call bandwidth issues!

Saturday 11th May

Michael has a poster on “An introduction to machine learning in healthcare: Implications for clinicians” up at Row M, Board 28 of the poster area. He’ll be there for the poster session from 12:00.

Sunday 12th May

Informal In Beta meetup! Come and say hello while you get a coffee in the morning break. We’ll be next to the Indaba area on the Upper Level from 10:00-10:45.

Ben is a speaker in the session “#GlobalPT: #BetterTogether, using social media for connection” which runs from 13:45 to 15:45 in Room T+U. His brief is to challenge what it is to be connected on social media and hopefully generate some discussion, so come along and throw your two cents in.

Monday 13th May

We will be presenting our In Beta unposter on “Continuing professional development: Do we really need more conferences?” at Row B, board 20 of the poster area. We’ll be there between 12:15 and 13:45 and in the coffee breaks. We’re hoping to do something quite different with our poster to make it a more engaging and active experience, including hosting a live In Beta discussion
on our poster question that people not at WCPT can join via Google hangout during our allocated poster presentation slot from 13:00. So whether you are in Geneva or not we would love to hear your thoughts on the benefits and frustrations of attending conferences.

We’ll be heading to Lausanne straight from Congress on Monday and will be grabbing dinner somewhere central near to the station. Whether you are coming to the Unconference or just fancy a quick jaunt out to Lausanne for the evening you are welcome to join us – get in touch on twitter @bendotellis or @michael_rowe or via the contact page if you want more details.

Tuesday 14th and Wednesday 15th May

Then on Tuesday and Wednesday we embark on our first In Beta Unconference – two days of physio education conversation and collaboration at HESAV in Lausanne. If you can make it to all or part of the two days we would love for you to join us! You can find out more and register at the Unconference page.

Hope to see you in Switzerland!
